Ye Olde World is fun
The game is fast to download and has an easy user interface. In no time you know how to handle your catapult. Load, set strength and angle and fire! It is fun and is the ideal game for in between. Its new physics engine lets you experience the effects of the diverse projectiles every time a bit differently. Some say its a kind of ‘procedural engine’ – we think its natural…
The game incorporates a fast first playing experience – a sandbox is also available to learn and familiarize with the game’s user interface. Nonenthless – Ye Olde World is there to be played and tried out – has missions already and an interesting setting in which we will elaborate in the future.
Fast, Immersive and Colorful
Ye Olde World – or ‘YOW’ – is a fast game. The missions have a time limit where you have to defeat the boss’ building – protected by a powerful magical shield. It’s also about strategy – trial and error or better trial and learning will help you to become better and better and in the end victorious.
You will have more different projectiles in your depot and you can get add-ons by shooting at them. So you may achieve the goal easier. Sometimes there is active resistance – or better defense – you will see it. Don’t panic and don’t get frustrated. Sometimes there is force in variety.
Not to forget the different climate zones you will play in – from rocky mountains to green lush meadows up to the sandy places – always your trusted catapult and projectiles with you.
The world setting
Also – don’t underestimate the magic, mechanical wonders and irreal logics in this parallel world YOW is set in. Perhaps that is the time to tell you a bit about the world you are playing in:
Some hundreds years ago there was a supranormal event in the foundations of our world fissures which was caused by a massive sun protuberance:
The world split in half on all real levels and in one of them the main development for our oncoming industrialisation stood still and was not existent. In this gap magic, ghosts, irreal logic and non-newtonal mechanics arose (well… they do not know Newton, so how should there be newton’s laws?) –
So there the medieval world is still in order and real. Some call it the “Forgotten MedeLand”. Trained castle dwellers, archers, heavy defenders, manufacturers, builders and many more. They enable a functional society with industry and citizens. But an evil one…
But – not only the old ways of society and tools but there is more in this world – ghostly items, devilish mechanics, powerful magicians, evil telltalers and some other dispitful people – which only want to harm others and spread in this world to grow their might.
You have your catapult. You are against these evil hordes.
Destroy their sieges, their castles, their palasts with a diversity of projectiles. But – be aware – time is against you and the evil is gathering to power against you!
